A water heater – whether it be gas or electric – has just one simple purpose: to turn cold water in hot water. That said, not all brands and types of water heaters are created equally.
Should I buy a conventional water heater, or go tankless?
Whether you should by a storage tank water heater or a tankless, on-demand water heating system depends on how your circumstances. According to Energy.gov, the government estimates tankless heaters are more efficient, particularly in homes that use a lot of hot water. However, the cost of an on-demand water heater is often higher than a conventional storage tank.
